Painted with acrylic and drawn with .05 pen and sharpie on newpaper and then glued to canvas.
And it is two canvases, not one.
Some text was taken out in photoshop for various reasons, mainly it was gay.
Give us some interpretation.
Hm, I wish I could interpret this. I love the composition, with the two canvases I mean. The use of newspaper is fantastic, it gives it a cut out feel, which I love. And the colours in the background, the soft orange really set it all off.
how are they supposed to cut across the dotted line if there is no dotted line? yeah... thats my critique...
Interpretation huh? Hmmmm maybe its that advertisements and media control us all... after all.. the newspaper is a form of mass media... how many people a day are in a routine driven to read the newspaper, cut out the coupons(reference to hand/scissors) and look at the pretty pictures?(reference to the roses)
That hand is superawesome. I like that it looks like a kid's hand. Dunno if that was intentional though. Your acrylics on newspaper idea is cool and I'll probably steal it at some point. Want some interp?
Well, I notice your roses have no thorns. TV looks harmless but is really worse than a rose with thorns? Who knows...I think I used up all my BS skills for that English essay. The split canvas thing can contribute to that though - you don't know that you should prune it right off.
agreed... that was fairylicious... just like the title of mine, but what can you do about those amnesty nazis?
well isn't it interesting how no matter what you paint, people see it as a great concept pulled off beautifully? a pawn or another chess piece being crushed by a brick toting hand could do the same here as your sissors. that's my BSed take on it... wee
