Television: The Trojan Horse by blackbirdpie Television: The Trojan Horse by blackbirdpie
Painted with acrylic and drawn with .05 pen and sharpie on newpaper and then glued to canvas.
And it is two canvases, not one.
Some text was taken out in photoshop for various reasons, mainly it was gay.
Give us some interpretation.

ooooooooh, he said gay!, im telling!

way to let us know that it's different elements combined by leaving the texture behid the objects. i'm really digging this.

what about television?

Oh yeah? Well....I like gay things. They make me rather gay.../happy. :D

Hm, I wish I could interpret this. I love the composition, with the two canvases I mean. The use of newspaper is fantastic, it gives it a cut out feel, which I love. And the colours in the background, the soft orange really set it all off.

Great work as always :)

how are they supposed to cut across the dotted line if there is no dotted line? yeah... thats my critique...

Interpretation huh? Hmmmm maybe its that advertisements and media control us all... after all.. the newspaper is a form of mass media... how many people a day are in a routine driven to read the newspaper, cut out the coupons(reference to hand/scissors) and look at the pretty pictures?(reference to the roses)

quite rad :)

Interpretation?: I say it portrays the fact that autumn is here. Time for pruning all those damn roses we may or may not have in our yards. Tv told me to.

Okay yeah stfu I have no idea.

That hand is superawesome. I like that it looks like a kid's hand. Dunno if that was intentional though. Your acrylics on newspaper idea is cool and I'll probably steal it at some point. Want some interp?

Well, I notice your roses have no thorns. TV looks harmless but is really worse than a rose with thorns? Who knows...I think I used up all my BS skills for that English essay. The split canvas thing can contribute to that though - you don't know that you should prune it right off.

This is so beautiful, I love it.
ps. who's us? have you become two people? or was topers with you perhaps?

So you painted the background on the canvas right? They look gorgeous, I love orange skies, & with that rose there it makes it look so remote. You always have amazing emotive artwork <3

this is beautiful nick :) i love that you made the roses and hand on newspaper, great job :)

I love the roses :)

something like television barges in our lives and stuff like it'll maybe do something good for us (the scissors), but all it does is cut the root of our own selves (the flowers)

That's what I thought, great pic anyway

agreed... that was fairylicious... just like the title of mine, but what can you do about those amnesty nazis?
well isn't it interesting how no matter what you paint, people see it as a great concept pulled off beautifully? a pawn or another chess piece being crushed by a brick toting hand could do the same here as your sissors. that's my BSed take on it... wee

Very creative. It's refreshingly different. I like it, especially the gaps where the newspaper shows.
