Nice painting...Excellent use of bright and vibrant colors.

The use of black and red are so lovely and sinister looking. The poor guy looks ashamed of his love, and his mouth seems sewn shut so he can't tel anyone about it. I like this one a lot!

I love the red in this pic and the coloring.

I like the luminescent qualities in this, they balance nicely with the blacks, the textures and the flatness balance nicely as well. It looks almost water color-like, but the colors are too bright and lurid to be watercolor. Nice work. I think you should stick with this whole painting thing :P

Damn it... I don't really know what to say right now. I want to give a very good comment but I'm totally speechless. I still am. I have seen it a while ago I just couldn't comment because I didn't have time. and I still have now words. I just... my head is totally empty. all I can say that this is beautiful. I'm not sure if this word has a meaning at all anymore, but if it has, than I mean it in the deepest way of it.

I know you would like to get some 'advanced critiques', it's more useful and everything, I know, and I feel so dumb and lame for that I can't. No, I cannot. I don't really know what does they mean by that, by 'constructive criticism' or whatnot. maybe I should speak about those artistic things like the use of I don't know what, the colours, those things like contrasts and.... and you know all those things I know nothing about, I don't even know their names.... but you know, when I look at a picture, I see something else then tool using methods and colour using and blah blah blah... I see... I don't really know. something... emotional. Just too bad that I have no words to explain it. Usually don't. Or does 'constructive criticism' mean to give advices to impove?... but damn it... what the hell to impove when everything is just so excellent....

Some days ago I showed this painting to one of my friends, and while we were talking about it I figured out something, something that I had looked at but I hadn't seen before then... that this picture is red... how original is that, damn it... I mean, I'm sure that everyone would have painted this in blue, everyone... because of the sad mood of it or what... but you used a lot of red and some other warm colours... and damn it, it works, it fricken works!!... I'm amazed. just... wow. it's amazing.

You know, when I first looked at the picture, i couldn't think about anything for a few seconds. my head was full of empty and all I could think about was 'awwww.' but after that, my first thought was 'damn. this guy is good.' I mean... you are professional. When I first saw your gallery I thought you are one of the bests of those I have just seen, and I'm just finding myself realizing that holy Jesus, you are getting just better and better. you draw in a very high quality and I feel... I feel that you are going to be famous. And I don't say 'one day' because this gonna happen very soon, I believe that. You could be a world famed comic artist even right now. You have an interest in comic drawing, don't you.... and in a couple of years I feel that you will be owning the hearts of billions of people. just how weird is it to see that. You are that close to reach something which is an unreachable dream to me. It's a kind of feeling like 'one of us' have been famous... and all the kids I know are just going to speak about that 'omg!! do you know this artist??' whatever your artistic name will be, 'holy gosh!! he's a genius!!' and I will say, 'sure, I've known him for years, we used to talk to each other at a time and he saw a couple of my drawings and even commented on them.' They will all drop ther jaws and will be all like 'nooo, I'm not gonna believe that!' 'But yes you will, because it's all true.' And they all will die of envy.... *sighs* ...

And yeah, I can't get enough of how adorable this picture is. that's beyond all bearings. I want to give a hug to you for that. It's just.... so... cute!! *hughughug* I have no words for that. It's even a billion more cute. :D

Man, I'm so damn sorry and I feel so stupid for that, but I can't give a constructive comment. If I could, I really would like to explain to you how much I love this picture. really. if I could have a wish right at the moment it would be to have this painting on my wall. really. I just... totally love it. love love love it. with all my heart. but anyways, that doesn't matter too much. I know you f...ckin hate enthusiasm. and that's why I try to stay behind. because I'm a f...ckin enthusiast of your works. I wish I could create so beautiful things what you do ever in my life. Probably I never will. All I wish that you may reach that thing you are very close right now. I know you will... and you know you will always have me somewhere in the background, as a f...ckin enthusiast. I am, and I will be annoying sometimes, I know, and please forgive me for that. In return I try to stay in the background and enjoy your art in all silence. :)
I don't know. probably there are so much things to say, which I forgot. I just don't know what to say. I love it. I love you. forever.

Oh my he's just so cute. I love the bright red color and the composition. I think the fact that his body trails off the bottom of the page and there is so much open space above his head really gives the piece a grounded and emotional feeling. Really nice work! I love this piece.

i noticed the "advanced critique encouraged" setting and wanted to give you some advice.. but i cant think of any to give! you seem to have the whole acrylics thing under wraps ^_^ i especially love the different textures in the background

beautiful piece  I wish I could paint. I love the background, brings so much more to the picture
lunarartemis Featured By Owner Sep 7, 2004
its sad :( but awesome :)

I like how the glasses rims are sharper/clearer than the them the whole metallic edge deal.

OK, since being critical is encouraged, I also reckon that the lighting on the shoulder seems to be done differently than the rest of the lighting.

However, the emotion in it is washing me away so much that I have to put it in my favourites :) :+fav:

Those eyes are really freaky....the background is really awesome and a bit distracting at that, because it IS so cool looking. What sort of paint is this? Damnit, does devart not tell you what category something is under anymore or is it just me?
blackbirdpie Featured By Owner Sep 6, 2004
NO its not just you! That irritates me terribly. I have no idea why they would get rid of that but, oh well.
Anyway its acrylic on canvas. And thank you very much.

You've greatly improved upon your painting skills in such a short time.
Good job on the shadows of the face.
And the hightlights on the right side of the forehead and eyelids.
